Six local activities for your family to experience this holiday season

Holiday Wonder at Fair Park:
This new event will open on Nov. 22 for all families in the Dallas area. There will be over 2 million lights, plus a christmas tree that will be 48 feet tall. The event also includes performances, interactive activities, and food from all over the world. The event will be open every day until Jan. 7.
Dallas Theater Center presents “A Christmas Carol”:
This annual performance will be open on Nov. 22 and will run until Dec. 28. The production will be a take on Dickens’ book “A Christmas Carol,” with scary ghosts flying above, and your favorite carols that will make you feel warm and fuzzy.
Cowboys Christmas at the Star:
On Nov. 24, fans and families can head to Frisco to the Cowboys’ practice facility for pictures with Santa, the inaugural lighting of the 52-foot Christmas tree, performances by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and more.
The Cowboys game on Thanksgiving:
What sounds better than eating a delicious meal with your family and then turning on the TV to cheer on your favorite team? The Cowboys will be playing their annual Thanksgiving Day game against the Buffalo Bills at 3:30 p.m. If you don’t feel like staying in, you can go to the game at AT&T Stadium with your family!
Texas Ballet Theater presents “The Nutcracker”:
The annual production will have eight performances from Dec. 3 to Dec. 8 at the Winspear Opera House, and then the production will move to the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth. Bring your family to enjoy this holiday tradition as you watch Clara battle through her dreamland to become a hero, in this classic ballet performance.
YMCA Turkey Trot:
The Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot 5K will start at 9 a.m. on Nov. 28, Thanksgiving morning. After you run or walk the trot, there will be crafts, bounce houses, balloon artists, facepainting and more. Visit this website for more information, including the route map.
