Atatiana Jefferson, the Fort Worth woman who was recently shot through her bedroom window by a police officer, graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 2010, according to the Lake Highlands Advocate

Jefferson had attended Cedar Hill High School before attending Lake Highlands.

The officer who killed her, Aaron Dean, resigned from the Fort Worth Police Department and has been charged with murder.

The Fort Worth Police Department Interim Chief Ed Krauss said Dean would have been fired even if he hadn’t resigned due to violations of the policies of the Fort Worth PD.

Dean’s bond was set at $200,000 and the former officer was bonded out Monday evening as reported by the New York Times.

This incident comes fresh off of the murder of Botham Jean, where Jean was killed by police officer Amber Guyger in his own home. Guyger was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Marquis Jefferson, the father of Atatiana, told USA Today that “Unlike Botham Jean, I don’t want no hug.”
